This quick craft transforms a flameless tea light into a cute bat. Using googly eyes, a paint marker, and black craft foam, you'll assemble a whimsical Halloween decoration. Perfect for adding a touch of spooky charm to any room.

Directions

  1. Start by acquiring the Halloween tea light patterns—either download, print, and cut them out, or draw and cut the shapes freehand.
  2. Collect your materials. Take the battery-operated flameless tea lights out of their packaging, pull the back tab, and confirm the flame works. Rotate the unit so the on/off switch is at the 6 o'clock position, then set it aside.
  3. Now let's create the face. Attach two googly eyes just above the faux flame. Using mismatched eye sizes gives the bat a playful and silly appearance.
  4. Next, take a white paint marker and draw a mouth and fangs below the flame.
  5. Trace bat wing shapes onto black craft foam and cut them out with scissors. Additionally, cut two small triangles from the foam and glue them to the top of the tea light for ears.
  6. Ensure the tea light's on/off switch is at the bottom, then use a hot glue gun to attach the bat wings just above the switch.
