Create three types of festive earrings: glittery ghost studs, mini cauldron dangles filled with pompoms and microbeads, and classic candy corn drops made from polymer clay. Each pair uses simple jewelry findings and craft supplies, perfect for adding a handmade touch to your Halloween outfit.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Create the ghost shape: Take strands of 1.5mm rhinestone trim and glue them to white craft foam in a rainbow-like half-circle, allowing the lower two-thirds to extend past the foam edge. You decide the strand lengths; for a jagged hem, use varying lengths; for an even edge, cut later. It's better to cut too long. Also glue vertical strands in the center of the rainbow, again letting two-thirds hang off. Repeat for the second ghost.
  2. Attach rhinestone face: On each ghost, glue two 5mm rhinestones as eyes and one 4mm rhinestone as a mouth.
  3. Cut out the ghosts: Wait for the glue to fully dry. Then trim away the extra foam carefully around the rhinestones. If needed, cut the rhinestone strands to your desired length.
  4. Add earring posts: To turn the ghosts into stud earrings, glue a blank earring post to the back of each ghost.
  5. Fill cauldrons with pompoms: Inside each dollhouse cauldron, glue a white pompom. The pompom fills the cauldron while keeping it lightweight.
  6. Top with microbeads: Put a dab of clear craft glue on parchment paper. Scoop iridescent clear microbeads onto the glue and stir until they clump together with no loose beads. Spoon the mixture onto the pompoms; if needed, add more glue on top to secure. Once almost dry, brush with clear nail polish as a sealant. Let dry and repeat the nail polish step.
  7. Add earring hooks: Using jewelry pliers, open the loop of an earring hook, attach the cauldron, then close the loop. Sterling silver hooks are recommended for hypoallergenic properties.
  8. Prepare clay: Roll white, orange, and yellow polymer clay into ropes. Stack them on top of each other and gently press together with your fingers. Use a rolling pin to flatten the stack to about 1/2 inch thick.
  9. Cut candy corn: With a clay cutting tool, slice the clay into triangles. Use your fingers to gently round the corners.
  10. Add eye pins and bake: Carefully insert an eye pin into the top of each candy corn. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake per the clay manufacturer's instructions.
  11. Add earring hooks: Once the candy corns are cool, attach an earring hook to each eye pin. Now you're ready to trick-or-treat or hand out candy all night!
