DIY Spooky Halloween Decorations With Books
Turn old books into creepy Halloween decor with fake fur, vampire teeth, and a chain lock.
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at runtoradiance.com.
This tutorial shows how to transform two hardback books into spooky decorations. One book gets a furry cover with vampire teeth and googly eyes, while the other is wrapped in a chain and secured with a lock. Optional red paint adds a bloody touch.

Directions
- Do a dry fit of the fur on one hardback book. Once you're satisfied it fits, cut away the extra fur.
- Apply super glue to attach the fur onto the book.
- Allow the glue to dry completely.
- Take the vampire teeth and cut each set in half.
- Glue the top halves onto the top edge of the book and the bottom halves onto the bottom edge.
- If you like, splatter red watercolor paint on the teeth and book to simulate blood.
- Attach the googly eyes to the top of the book using glue.
- Select a second book that looks vintage and creepy.
- Wrap the metal chain around the second book, as you would wrap ribbon or twine around a gift. Use about 2 feet of chain or adjust to your book size.
- Secure the chain by fastening the metal lock through it.
- If the lock has any brand markings, color over them with the black sharpie to create a solid black stripe.
