This tutorial guides you through creating a mummy-themed luminary using glass jars, white paint, and cheesecloth. The process involves preparing the jars, applying adhesive and fabric to mimic bandages, adding eye cutouts for character, and finishing with a draped cloth detail. Once dry, the jars are illuminated with battery-operated candles for a festive display.

Directions
- Remove any existing labels from the glass containers. If there is a printed expiration date, use nail polish remover to wipe it away, then wash and dry the jars thoroughly.
- Apply a coat of white glass paint or acrylic enamel to the interior surface of each jar. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for drying time. Alternatively, you may use school glue for this step, provided the jars will remain dry.
- Slice the cheesecloth into strips measuring roughly 1.5 to 2 inches in width and 12 inches in length. Cut these strips while the fabric is still folded to ensure uniformity.
- Brush a layer of matte Mod Podge or school glue onto the exterior of the jar.
- Drape the cheesecloth strips over the glued surface, pressing them firmly to adhere. Cross the strips back and forth several times to create a wrapped, mummy-like appearance. Extend the fabric over the rim and underneath the base. Set aside one strip for later use.
- Cut out the eye shapes using your chosen PDF pattern or SVG file. Position the eyes approximately one-third down the side of the jar, spacing them about one inch apart. Press them onto the jar while the adhesive is still tacky.
- Take the reserved cheesecloth strip and drape it across part of the eyes to partially obscure them.
- Let the decoration dry completely before placing a battery-operated votive candle inside to illuminate it.
