Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at mynameissnickerdoodle.com.
This Halloween recipe turns classic meatloaf into a fun foot shape with onion toenails and ketchup blood. It's easy to make with ground beef, panko crumbs, and simple seasonings. Bake until cooked through and serve with your favorite sauce.
Ingredients
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, au jus seasoning packet, freshly cracked pepper, dry mustard, and onion powder until combined.
- Add the ground beef and panko crumbs to the bowl, then mix everything together.
- Be careful not to overwork the mixture—stir just until the ingredients are combined.
- Split the mixture into two equal portions and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Shape each portion into a foot form, similar to the ones shown in the photos.
- Take a thick slice from the yellow onion and use one of the rings to cut out toenail shapes for each toe.
- Cut two small onion rings and position them on top of the ankle area to create a stump effect.
- Put a small amount of ketchup over each onion ring and spread it a bit so some runs down the sides.
- Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, or until the center is fully cooked.
- Allow the loaf to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
- My family enjoys eating it with extra ketchup or stewed tomatoes, but I personally prefer brown gravy.
