Learn how to turn simple tin cans into adorable mummy party favors using black paint, cheesecloth, and googly eyes. This step-by-step guide shows you how to wrap, glue, and fill your creations for a festive Halloween treat.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Start by washing the tin containers and letting them dry completely. Use your pliers to flatten any sharp metal fragments along the inner edge, then spray the exterior with black paint.
  2. Measure out five feet of cheesecloth and fold the material in half twice. Place a dollop of hot adhesive on one end of the fabric strip and press it firmly against the rear of the can.
  3. Gently tug the cloth downward to form the lower lip of the mummy's face, then add a small amount of hot glue to keep it positioned.
  4. Wind the fabric around the entire container, moving from the base up to the top and back down to the bottom. Fasten the remaining end of the cloth to the back with hot glue.
  5. Separate the layers of the cheesecloth slightly to create space for the eyes, then attach the googly eyes using hot glue.
  6. Turn a small section of the fabric over the top edge of the can and apply hot glue to create a smooth, safe border.
  7. Load your new mummy containers with treats and hand them out to visitors at your Halloween gathering.
