Halloween Spider Craft
Create a wobbly paper spider that rocks side to side – a fun Halloween craft!
Our own summary of the original by In The Playroom — the full post and photos live at intheplayroom.co.uk.
This easy project uses black and white paper to make a spider that rocks. You'll cut a circle for the body, fold it, and add eight bent legs and cartoon eyes. Once dry, give it a gentle tap to watch it wobble.
You'll need
Directions
- Trace a large circle onto black construction paper (you can use a round object as a guide) and cut it out.
- Fold the circle in half to make a neat semicircle. This folded edge becomes the spider's top, and the curved bottom lets it rock.
- Cut two medium white circles and two smaller black circles. Glue each black circle onto a white one to create cartoonish eyes.
- Attach the eyes by gluing them along the folded top edge, letting them peek slightly over the rim.
- From leftover black paper, cut eight narrow strips. Add a small bend near one end of each strip to form a 'knee'.
- On the left side, tuck the straight end of four strips just under the front flap and glue them in place, with the bent knee pointing outward.
- Repeat on the right side with the remaining four strips, spacing them evenly so they fan out.
- Press the glued areas to ensure the legs stick well, then adjust their angles until you're happy with the look.
- Stand the spider on its curved edge and give it a gentle tap so it rocks side to side. Let it dry completely.
- For extra personality, add a smile or tiny fangs using scrap paper.
