These homemade Halloween skeleton cupcake toppers are made from large marshmallows and yogurt covered pretzels held together with melted white chocolate. Draw a Jack Skellington face on the marshmallow, assemble a pretzel ribcage on a lollipop stick, and add broken pretzel arms. Then simply stick the whole thing into a frosted cupcake for a delightfully creepy treat.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Put the white chocolate chips into a small resealable plastic bag and heat it in the microwave for 15 to 20 seconds. Massage the bag to evenly melt the chips, then snip a tiny corner off. This melted white chocolate will serve as edible glue for assembling the pretzel ribcage.
  2. Place a small dab of the melted white chocolate onto the lower portion of a lollipop stick.
  3. Slide a yogurt covered pretzel onto the lollipop stick until it reaches the chocolate dab. Add more melted chocolate to seal the hole around the stick.
  4. Next, slide two more pretzels onto the stick and attach them together using more melted white chocolate.
  5. Carefully transfer the assembled pretzel stack onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper so the chocolate glue can set.
  6. Repeat the process with the remaining pretzels and lollipop sticks. Each skeleton will have a ribcage made from three pretzels.
  7. While the pretzel ribcages are drying, use a black edible marker to draw a Jack Skellington face on the rounded side of each large marshmallow.
  8. Once the pretzel ribcages are completely dry, press a decorated marshmallow onto the top of each lollipop stick.
  9. Carefully snap two pretzels in half to create the skeleton arms.
  10. Gently insert these broken pretzel pieces into the top pretzel of the ribcage and secure them with additional melted white chocolate.
  11. Insert the entire lollipop stick into a baked and frosted Halloween cupcake until the pretzel ribcage touches the frosting.
  12. Enjoy your spooky creation!
