This reversible trick-or-treat bag features a festive Halloween fabric on one side and a solid color on the other. With simple sewing steps, you can make a practical bag that flips to match your mood or occasion. Perfect for collecting candy or storing treats year-round.
Directions
- Cut two identical rectangles of fabric, one with a Halloween pattern and one with a contrasting solid color, each measuring 12 inches wide by 14 inches tall.
- Place the two fabric pieces with right sides together, aligning all edges. Pin along all four sides, leaving a 4-inch opening along the bottom edge for turning.
- Sew around the perimeter with a 1/2-inch seam allowance, removing pins as you go. Remember to backstitch at the start and end of the opening.
- Clip the corners diagonally, being careful not to cut the stitching. Turn the bag right side out through the opening and push out the corners with a blunt tool.
- Press the bag flat with an iron, then fold the top edge down 2 inches to create a hem. Sew a 1/4-inch hem all around, leaving the opening unstitched for now.
- Insert a 24-inch length of ribbon or cord into the hem through the opening, tying the ends together. Stitch the opening closed, and the bag is ready to flip inside out for either design.
