This fun Halloween recipe transforms plain spaghetti into vibrant orange, purple, and green strands. By dividing cooked pasta into bags with colored water, you can create a festive dish that's perfect for Halloween parties. Serve with butter or your favorite sauce for a tasty treat.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add 8 ounces of spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until it reaches your desired doneness.
  2. While the pasta cooks, prepare three separate Ziploc bags. Into each bag, pour 2 tablespoons of water. Then add 20 drops of food coloring: orange in one, purple in another, and green in the third.
  3. Seal each bag and gently swirl the contents to mix the water and food coloring together.
  4. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it using a strainer. Return the drained pasta to the pot, then divide it equally among the three bags.
  5. Seal the bags and shake or squish them to evenly coat the pasta with the colored water. Let the bags sit for 5 minutes so the pasta absorbs the color.
  6. Empty each bag one at a time into the strainer and rinse the pasta under cold water to remove any excess dye.
  7. Return the colored pasta to the pot and add butter or margarine to prevent sticking. Stir until the colors are well mixed.
  8. Transfer the Halloween pasta to a plate, serve with parmesan cheese or your favorite sauce, and enjoy!
