Magic Potion Bottles for Halloween from a Vintage Spice Rack
Turn a vintage spice rack into magical potion bottles with color-shifting paint and cork stoppers for a bewitching Halloween display.

This project transforms a vintage spice rack and its glass bottles into a set of enchanting potion bottles. With color shift paints, custom labels, and cork stoppers, you can create a uniform, magical look. A distressed white finish with a stormy wash completes the eerie aesthetic.
You'll need

- Choose 2 or 3 color shift paints (and optional metallic craft paint) that contrast.
- Drip paint randomly inside each glass spice bottle.
- Cover the bottle mouth with a folded paper towel, shake hard, and rotate to coat interior evenly with swirling colors.
- Set bottles upside down on a baking rack to let extra paint drip out.
- Design fun potion labels, cut them out, and glue onto bottles.
- Replace the original mismatched lids with cork stoppers for a uniform look.
- Apply the same color shift paints to the cork stoppers.
- Remove the two front slats from the spice rack, reposition them lower, and reattach with the original nails.
- Spray the entire rack white, lightly distress it, then apply a stormy-colored pickling wash.
