Teach kids counting and number recognition using M&M's. This activity involves grouping candies into piles of ten, counting by tens, and forming numbers with the treats. It's a sweet way to practice math skills.

Directions

  1. Arrange M&M's into groups, each containing ten pieces.
  2. Verify each pile has precisely ten M&M's by counting.
  3. Collect ten such piles together, then count to see how many piles you have.
  4. Practice counting by tens, and with chalk, write the corresponding number beneath each group.
  5. Repeat the group counting out loud multiple times.
  6. Use the candies to create different numerals.
