Turn a cracker box into a spooky pinchable piñata and boo your neighbors this Halloween!
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at frogprincepaperie.com.
This eco-friendly Halloween craft transforms an empty cracker box into a cute mini piñata using tissue paper fringe, colored cardstock face designs, and a ribbon handle. Fill it with candy, tape the bottom lightly, and hang it for a fun booing surprise. The free printable tags and SVG files make it easy to customize with Dracula, Frankenstein, or pumpkin faces.

Directions
- First, prepare your fringe by stacking two sheets of tissue paper. Cut 2-inch-wide strips from the stack. The orientation (short or long side) depends on your box size. Then, while keeping the strips layered, snip fringe cuts every inch along one long edge.
- Use a small piece of tissue paper (matching your fringe color) to tape over the unopened top of the cracker box, concealing it.
- Choose a back side. Begin at the open bottom flaps: tape the start of a fringe strip to the back, wrap it around the box, and secure the end with tape. Continue adding strips in layers until the entire box surface is covered. The number needed depends on strip width and box dimensions.
- Attach the 12-inch black ribbon as a handle by taping its ends to the top or sides of the box. For a cleaner look, slide the ends under the fringe.
- Pick a design from the Halloween pinata face files. Print the pieces on white cardstock or use a cutting machine to cut them from colored cardstock (e.g., purple, green, red, gold). If using a Cricut, layer elements like black pupils onto white eyeballs. Assemble the face with a glue stick and attach it to the box.
- Punch a hole in one of the bottom flaps. Thread curling ribbon through and knot it. Print and punch out the "Boo Your Neighbors" circles, then punch a hole in each and tie them to the curling ribbon. Trim the ribbon to your preferred length (ours was short). Fill the box with candy. Since just closing the flaps won't hold them, apply a single piece of tape lightly across the bottom. When someone pulls the circle tag, the tape releases and candy spills out.
