Create a whimsical hot air balloon costume with a woven chipboard basket, ribbon straps, and balloon sandbags. A balloon-adorned headband completes the airborne look. Perfect for Halloween or dress-up adventures.

Directions

Cut chipboard strips 1.5 inches wide. You'll need 10 horizontal strips and 32 vertical strips. Weave them together to create a board that measures 80 inches by 20 inches.

Fold the woven board into quarters, then hot glue the ends together so you have a 20-inch by 20-inch basket.

Measure ribbon from the inside front of the basket, over your shoulders, to the inside back for the straps. Hot glue the straps in place inside the basket.

Inflate eight 9-inch white balloons to serve as sandbags. Hot glue them around the bottom edge of the basket.

For the headpiece, inflate assorted colored 12-inch balloons and tie them securely around a headband.

Put on the basket and headpiece, and you're ready to lift off!
