This guide walks you through covering a wire frame with orange tulle, mounting a candy pumpkin, and adding spooky details and treats to create a unique Halloween wreath.
You'll need
Directions
- Measure and snip between 20 and 30 pieces of the orange tulle, each exactly 24 inches long. Take one piece, fold it down the middle to create a loop, slide that loop underneath a section of the wire frame, then pull the two loose ends through the loop. Yank the knot tight and continue this process around the entire frame until it is fully covered.
- Use your scissors to trim the bottom edges of the tulle strands so they hang at a uniform distance from the wire ring, creating a neat, circular shape.
- Remove the handle from the candy pumpkin container.
- Weave a length of black ribbon through the holes where the handle used to be. Secure the ribbon ends to the wire frame, adjusting the tension to set the pumpkin at your preferred vertical height in the center of the wreath, then knot the ribbon securely.
- Decide how far you want the pumpkin to protrude from the wall. To make it stick out further, use your tin snips to cut away the back third of the pumpkin bucket.
- Apply hot glue to the fake rats, snakes, and other creepy crawlies, then press them onto the wreath. For a fun touch, slice one of the rats in half and glue it so it appears to be emerging from the pumpkin's mouth.
- Position the three large candy boxes against the wire frame (avoiding the pumpkin) and glue them down to create the illusion that they are spilling out of the container. Arrange the four to five small candy boxes as you see fit, then display your creation.
