Create a festive fall decoration by cutting a dryer vent hose into three lengths, painting them, and coiling them into pumpkin shapes. Stack the pumpkins, add a stem, and embellish with leaves or ribbon for a unique topiary.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Cut the dryer vent hose into three pieces measuring 2.25 feet, 2.75 feet, and 3 feet.
  2. Paint each hose segment a different color. Apply two coats if necessary, then let them dry completely.
  3. Coil each hose so the ends meet, then hot glue the ends together. Use binder clips to hold the hose in place while the glue sets. The smallest pumpkin may need to stay clipped overnight.
  4. Stack the pumpkins by placing the middle one on top of the largest. Apply hot glue where the pumpkin ribs touch to secure them. Then glue the smallest pumpkin on top.
  5. Attach a stem made from a cinnamon stick or other stick to the top of the stack with hot glue.
  6. Add decorations like faux leaves, ribbon, or flowers to the pumpkins as desired.
