Create enchanting Halloween lanterns from jars of any shape. Spray them purple and then add spooky designs using paint markers, glue paint, paper cutouts, or vinyl. These glowing jars set the perfect eerie mood.

You'll need

jars of different sizes and shapes
a can of purple spray paint
different materials depending on what technique you choose for putting designs on

Directions

Collect jars in different sizes and shapes. Remove labels by soaking them in hot water and scrubbing; get rid of any sticky residue with rubbing alcohol.
Spray the outside of the jars with a thin, even coat of purple spray paint. Let them dry completely. For best results, test how much light shines through and add a second coat if needed.
Add designs using one of four methods: draw with paint markers, mix white glue with black acrylic paint to create a paintable texture, cut paper silhouettes and glue them on, or print designs on vinyl and adhere them to the jars.
