Gross Halloween sensory game
Create a spooky sensory game with a tissue box and some everyday gross items—perfect for Halloween parties!
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at agirlandagluegun.com.
This DIY gross sensory game uses a decorated tissue box with a star-shaped foam top to hide items inside. Kids reach in and feel slime, grapes, cooked noodles, and more without seeing them, making it a fun Halloween activity. The box is covered with printable designs and filled with touchable surprises like play doh, jello, and peanut butter.
You'll need
Directions
- Prepare two copies of each printable to cover every side of the box. Cut them all out, then attach the tabs with glue to form a continuous strip of four panels.
- Wrap the strip around the tissue box and glue it in place.
- Enlarge the opening of the box so a hand can fit inside easily. Leave some of the original rim intact because you'll need those edges for the next step.
- Using a sheet of craft foam, trace the shape of the box's top opening and cut it out.
- Cut the foam piece into a star shape in the middle, which allows a hand to go in and out while blocking the view. Glue the foam onto the box using the remaining rim of the tissue box.
- Add the "gross" items to the box: grapes, slimes, cooked noodles, cotton balls, karo syrup, treats, play doh, peanut butter, jello, and flour.
