Halloween Candy Jar
Transform a simple terra cotta pot into a spooky candy jar with this easy Halloween craft.
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at apumpkinandaprincess.com.
This Halloween candy jar project turns a terra cotta pot, saucer, and wooden knob into a festive treat holder. After painting and assembling the pieces, you fill the jar with candy and add a ribbon for decoration. It’s a quick and fun way to display sweets for trick-or-treaters.
You'll need
Directions
- Apply paint to the exterior of the terra cotta pot, saucer, and wooden knob. You can choose between standard craft paint or spray paint (I’m working with a gloss spray variant). Be careful to avoid painting the lid’s interior, as it will touch the candy; you can cover it with tape to keep it clean. Wait until the paint is fully dry before moving on.
- Attach the glass jar to the terra cotta pot using E6000 or another heavy-duty adhesive. Set a heavy book on top and allow the glue to cure for a minimum of 8 hours.
- Use hot glue to fasten the wooden knob onto the saucer.
- Put candy into the jar and then add decorative ribbon.
