This Halloween recipe turns crescent rolls into gory-looking intestines stuffed with seasoned ground turkey, bell peppers, and mozzarella. After baking with garlic butter and a final brush of marinara, they're served with extra meat and cheese for a delightfully disgusting main dish.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chopped red onion and red bell pepper for 2–3 minutes until softened. Add the ground turkey and cook for about 3 minutes, then season with garlic powder, season salt, and dried oregano. Continue browning until the turkey is fully cooked.
  2. Stir in the pasta sauce, then remove the skillet from the heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Stir well and set aside.
  5. Unroll both crescent roll sheets. Cut each sheet lengthwise into 3 strips, giving you 6 strips total.
  6. Sprinkle a little shredded mozzarella down the center of each strip, then spoon some of the turkey filling on top. Fold the dough up and over the filling, pinching the edges to seal.
  7. Place the filled rolls on the prepared baking sheet, coiling them into wavy shapes to resemble intestines.
  8. Brush the rolls with the garlic butter and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, lightly brush with extra pasta sauce, then arrange any remaining turkey mixture around the rolls. Sprinkle additional mozzarella over everything. Bake for another 5–7 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
