Transform recycled plastic jars and bottles into festive Halloween luminaries by adding vinyl or marker faces and embellishments like bolts. Finish with a battery-operated tea light for a safe, eerie glow.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Wash plastic jars and bottles that previously held food items thoroughly to prevent bugs from being drawn to your Halloween decorations when displayed outdoors.
  2. Cut craft vinyl into shapes to create amusing or spooky face designs for each container. Let creativity guide you in crafting unique expressions.
  3. An alternative method is to draw faces directly onto the containers using paint markers or permanent markers.
  4. Attach decorative items like bolts. For example, use scissors to carefully puncture a hole in the container, then insert a bolt to give it a Frankenstein look.
  5. For containers that aren't opaque, place a candle inside to illuminate your luminary. Battery-operated tea lights are recommended for safety.
