This tutorial shows how to create a spider-inspired Halloween look. It includes applying dark gray shadow and a bold brow on one eye, painting a spider web on the other, blackening the lips, and finishing with plastic spiders attached with liquid latex for a chilling effect.

Directions

  1. Using an eyeshadow brush, sweep dark gray shadow over the eyelids. Then take a black eyeliner pencil and draw a bold, exaggerated brow just above one eye. For an extra creepy spider effect, also line the lower lash line with the same pencil.
  2. On the other eye, paint a spider web. Dip a thin craft brush into white face paint and, starting just above the eyelid crease, draw lines that radiate upward and outward. Connect those lines with a curved line that dips between each point. To add depth, use black face paint or liquid eyeliner to trace just outside some of the white web lines, accenting a few sections.
  3. Prep lips with a layer of lip balm to prevent dryness. Outline your lips with black eyeliner, then fill them in completely. Gently blend the color with your finger if needed to smooth it out.
  4. For a truly spine-tingling finish, attach several plastic spiders (any size or shape) to your face using liquid latex—it will keep them in place all night. Always test the latex on a small patch of skin for allergies first. Add as many spiders as you like for maximum creepiness.
