This Halloween pizza recipe lets you craft four creepy designs using pizza dough, sauce, cheese, olives, pepperoni, and bell pepper. Each design has its own assembly and baking instructions, with spiders baked 15-20 minutes and other designs 13-15 minutes at 450°F.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F. On a well-floured surface, split the 1/2 pound of pizza dough into two equal pieces and allow them to reach room temperature if they were chilled.
  2. Roll or toss each dough half into a circle about 8 inches across and 1/4-inch thick.
  3. Lightly brush olive oil onto a pizza stone or large baking sheet. Transfer the dough circles onto the prepared surface. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over both crusts.
  4. Slice 10 black olives in half lengthwise. Set aside the whole halves for spider bodies. Cut the remaining halves horizontally into thin strips to serve as spider legs.
  5. Sprinkle 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella over the sauce. To create spiders, place a whole olive half cut-side down on the cheese, then arrange 8 strips around it as legs. Repeat for as many spiders as you like.
  6. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  7. For the mummy design: Cut the 4 slices of fresh mozzarella into strips. Arrange the strips over the sauce in an uneven pattern to resemble bandages. Place 2 whole black olives on each pizza for eyes.
  8. For the ghost design: Place 3 mozzarella slices on each pizza. Slice the remaining 2 black olives and add 2 olive slices to each mozzarella slice to form eyes.
  9. Bake the mummy and ghost pizzas for 13 to 15 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
  10. For the jack-o'-lantern design: Cut 1 pepperoni slice into triangles for noses. Slice the 1/2 orange bell pepper into 2 fun shapes for mouths.
  11. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella over the dough. Add 2 whole pepperoni slices for eyes, a pepperoni triangle for the nose, and the bell pepper shape for the mouth. Repeat for the second pizza. Optionally, place the bell pepper stem on top.
  12. Bake the jack-o'-lantern pizzas for 13 to 15 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
