You'll need
Directions
- Print the free Haunted House template and cut it out. Take a piece of white cardstock or construction paper, and use crayons to color the entire surface, leaving no white spaces.
- In a small bowl, mix black paint with a few drops of dish soap. Use a large paintbrush to apply the mixture over the crayon-covered paper, ensuring no crayon colors show through. Let it dry completely.
- Flip the dried paper so the crayon side faces up. Place the Haunted House template on top and trace it with a pencil. Carefully cut along the traced lines to create a black Haunted House cutout.
- Take a scratch tool such as a chopstick or toothpick, and gently scratch away the black paint to reveal the colorful crayon layer underneath. Scratch any design, pattern, or doodle you like.
- Use leftover scraps from the black-painted paper to cut out additional shapes like a spooky fence, moon, or trees. You can scratch designs on them too. Glue the Haunted House and extra pieces onto a new sheet of cardstock or construction paper.
