Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at notimeforflashcards.com.
This easy Halloween craft lets kids hammer or push nails into a foam pumpkin to create faces and designs. Decorate with craft buttons or use bare nails for hair and other details. It’s a mess-free, kid-friendly activity that yields a unique and playful pumpkin.
You'll need
Directions
- Collect a foam pumpkin (available at Dollar Tree), some nails, craft buttons, and a hammer.
- If helping a child, hold a button in place for them while they start the first nail; older kids can manage on their own.
- Insert a nail through a buttonhole and press it just enough so it stands, then use the hammer to drive it in.
- The hammer works, but children may also simply push the nails into the foam using their fingers.
- Continue adding nails and buttons to create faces or patterns—for example, nails without buttons can serve as hair, or fill every hole with a button.
