Create eerie Halloween cages using two small laundry baskets, fake chain, and spray paint. Cut a handle section for a flush fit, attach chain with shower curtain rings, and paint black with a silver mist for a weathered look. Assemble and fill with bats, skulls, or spiders for a frightful display.

Directions

  1. On one laundry basket, cut out a section where the handles are so the two baskets can be placed flush together. This cut basket will serve as the top of the cage, allowing water to drain out if used outdoors.
  2. Attach a shower curtain ring to each end of your fake chain. Use these rings to connect the chain to the underside of the top basket. Then use a couple more rings to secure the two baskets together.
  3. Spray paint both baskets and the shower curtain rings with flat black paint. Once dry, lightly mist over them with metallic silver to create an aged, grimy metal appearance.
  4. Assemble the cage by stacking the baskets, then hang it up. Fill the interior with Halloween decorations such as fake bats, skulls, or spiders.
