Spider and Monster Face Halloween Pizza
Creepy-crawly spider and monster face pizzas that are almost too cute to eat—almost!

This Halloween pizza recipe turns dinnertime into a spooky art project. You divide pizza dough, top with sauce and cheese, then use black olives for spiders, pepperoni and green olives for monsters, and red onion for silly or scary mouths. Bake at 500°F for 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Ingredients
Directions
- Set your oven to 500°F to preheat.
- Split the dough into two halves and roll each on a floured surface with a floured rolling pin into about a 12-inch round (or rectangle if using baking pans). Lightly dust your pizza stones or pans with coarse cornmeal to prevent sticking, then lay the dough on top.
- Distribute half of the tomato sauce over each pizza, leaving a roughly 1/2-inch border. Sprinkle each with 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning and 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, then cover each with half of the shredded mozzarella (you can mix in some provolone or Parmesan if you like).
- Slice the black olives in half lengthwise. Reserve one half for the spider’s body, and cut the other half into 4 to 5 pieces: one piece for the head and the rest for legs (you need 8 legs total, 4 on each side of the spider). Arrange these on the pizza to form spiders—I usually place 6 to 7 spiders per pizza.
- Fill in the gaps around the spiders with pepperoni. Slice green olives to create eyes, and thinly slice red onions to form mouths—you can pull out center rings for O-shaped mouths or cut slices for happy and sad expressions. Be creative!
- Bake the pizzas on the bottom rack for about 15 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and browned. If using stones, bake one at a time; if using pans, rotate them halfway through baking.
