This Halloween Feet Loaf recipe uses ground beef, panko, and clever onion ring details to create edible feet. You'll shape the meat into foot forms, add onion toenails and a ketchup topping, then bake until cooked through. Serve with ketchup, stewed tomatoes, or brown gravy for a festive meal.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a big bowl, whisk together two eggs, the au jus packet, half a teaspoon of freshly cracked pepper, half a teaspoon of dry mustard, and one teaspoon of onion powder.
  3. Add the two pounds of ground beef and two cups of panko crumbs, then mix everything together.
  4. Be careful not to overmix—stop as soon as the ingredients are just combined.
  5. Split the mixture into two equal portions and put them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Shape each portion into a foot shape, similar to the ones shown in the photos.
  7. Take a thick slice from the yellow onion and use one ring to cut out toenail shapes for each toe.
  8. Cut two small rings from the onion and place them on top of the ankle area to create a stump-like look.
  9. Drizzle a small amount of ketchup over each onion ring and spread it a bit so some drips down the sides.
  10. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until the center is fully cooked.
  11. Let the feet loaf cool for five minutes before serving.
  12. My family enjoys it with ketchup or stewed tomatoes, but I personally like brown gravy.
