This festive recipe creates three batches of white hot chocolate dyed orange, green, and purple. Decorate with whipped cream, sprinkles, and DIY marshmallow eyeballs and ghosts using an edible marker. It's a fun, creamy drink perfect for Halloween parties.
Ingredients
Directions
- Put the white chocolate pieces into a big bowl and reserve for later.
- Warm the milk in a large pot over medium-high heat until it just starts to simmer; avoid letting it come to a full boil.
- As the milk heats, take an edible black marker and draw small dots on some mini marshmallows to create eyeballs. On other mini marshmallows, draw two eyes and a mouth to form tiny ghost faces. If you lack an edible marker, melted chocolate works as a substitute.
- Immediately pour the heated milk over the white chocolate and whisk everything together until smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Split the hot chocolate evenly among three separate bowls. Tint one bowl orange, another green, and the third purple with food coloring. Then pour each colored drink into individual mugs.
- Add a generous dollop of whipped cream to each mug and garnish with Halloween sprinkles, the marshmallow eyeballs, and the ghost marshmallows.
- Alternatively, finish with whipped cream and sprinkles, and choose either eyeball marshmallows or ghost marshmallows as the topper.
